This unique product is a "switchblade" style remote + key combo unit. It performs two functions: It works as a key AND a keyless entry remote. With the press of the silver button, the hidden keyblade is spring-released, automatically locking into the useful position. Press the button again so you can press the blade back into it's hidden position. This device is made of high-quality, high-impact ABS plastic and chrome steel components. It also has a high-quality feel. Depending on your vehicle you may need to have one or both devices, the key and the remote, programmed to your specific vehicle.

If you lost your original key then this would be a good replacement, probably. I recommend that you purchase it from a different company though (see my company review). But if your key is just made like a piece of junk and the key breaks apart and you are looking to replace the crap key that came with the car then DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! If the key works (meaning the transponder chip with the keyless features) then you can get a replacement shell which is the same exact shell as this one with the switchblade design and all you have to do is take the transponder chip and put it in the new shell, go to home improvement store and have them cut the key and you have a replacement for the original. This way there is no programming needed (insert key twice, open shut door 2 times, honk horn 3 times, stand on your head and do the hokey pokey...) to get the key to work and you do not have to go to the dealership to get the RFID tag programmed which will cost another $40 in addition to the key purchase, and that is if you figure out how to do the hokey pokey to get the keyless remote features working on your own without the dealership. The best part about the key shell? Well how does $11 sound. Compared to $130 you cannot go wrong, and even though it is shipped from China, I bet it would arrive sooner than iKeyless shipping! Heres the trick, because you wont find this for Scion cars and dealership will NOT tell you: Toyota and Scion key chips are the same size as the Scion for years 2006-2010, so if you find a RAV4 shell then it will work if it is the same year as your Scion! I couldnt find any of these on Amazon but they are available on ebay for only $11 with free shipping. Do not waste $130+ on a new key that will cost you another $40 at the dealership just get a new shell and save the extra $120!! You are all welcome!

The key works!!! Don't let the dealer tell you otherwise. They'll try and scare you and say that even if it doesn't work you have to pay for them to attempt to program it. The key and keyless entry works perfectly!
