Owned these for 8 mo. now and they are sick period... They blow any other sub away hands down (possibly excluding the JBL W15GTi MkII but at $ 599.00 each, forget it). Come on people, 400watts RMS, 1600 peak(true power not some hipped up piece of crap #s), long throw speaker/surround, Some kind off special reinforced crap on the voice coil lead connections, and Kevlar impregnated paper cones... wtf..? I've been around for awhile and been a lifelong fan of JBL/Altec speakers, hell I've got Altec Model 9 series 3 and Altec Santana's form the late 70's era that are still pounding just as hard as the day they were born. You hear it all the time "hey man I blew a sub!" so I'm like what are you stupid by a JBL and be done with it, crank it up and hope you don't blow ur windows. lol. The only way to one up this sub would be with two of these on the same system (which my friend has)and yes it is retarded. I tell you I may be getting old, but at about 10 min. in his ride is all I can handle 'cause this sub resonates you down to the core of your soul. c
