After I used this item couple of months, it stopped working properly.Maybe it is because of rain, I don't know.But right now, it gives the alarm sound even if it is detached and unlocked.No matter what I did, it is always acting like it is attached and locked.So I take out the battery and use it just as a "lock" without the alarm feature.If the garage is outdoors, this is not the item for you.By the way, I bought it for my bike(Honda CBR600RR'05).

I got this alarm lock to use on my new Vectrix, as it's an electric motorcycle and I didn't want an integrated alarm that would be running on the batteries.As a lock, it seems very solid. The key design is complex and looks very difficult to pick. It's mostly stainless steel and looks like it could resist a major mechanical attack.As an alarm, it's not very impressive. It uses photo detectors to determine if it's been placed on a brake rotor. That system is a bit flaky and sometimes it's difficult to get it to arm. When annunciating, the alarm can be defeated by just placing the palm of your hand over the little opening, causing the sound to become totally muffled and barely detectable even when being close enough to hold it. And that's when it's actually working.

Real heavy weight disc lock. I had to return the Xena 18 as it Was too big for my discs. The Xena 14 fits my 07 Victory Vegas with no problems. It isnt overly sensitive, and the alarm is loud but not ear piercing. Its easy to arm, and disarrm. I know nothing is 100% theft-proof, but this is a great secondary backup device/deterrent. I'm happy with the quality, and hoping I never have to see it "in use."
