I received this unit for Xmas and due to weather conditions I have just now gotten around to installing it. I selected this unit based on the price and the fact that Code Alarm made the factory remote start system for my truck. This was installed in a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT which is basically a dressed up F150.The wiring was fairly straight forward and most everything was very easy to understand. I have never installed a remote start before but i am a certified electronics tech by trade so it was rather painless. The hardest part by far is locating the factory wiring you must tie into. I used T-Tap connectors to avoid cutting my factory wiring. I downloaded a wire layout for my specific vehicle beforehand and that made things much easier. Keep in mind you MUST also have a security bypass module installed to prevent you from having to have a key in the ignition for the starter to engage. I used the Xpresskit PKFM for Ford that comes with the correct firmware. Also see my review on here about it.I wanted a basic remote start and that is exactly what this is plus a few extras. It also has keyless entry, panic mode, and car finder features that i like very much. The quick stop feature may also come in handy. I did not get the tach sense programming done as it didnt work after 2 tries but that may have been due to the bypass module not being programmed yet. Fortunately it has a tachless feature you can program that worked just fine. The range of the transmitter is fantastic.
