I have used three pair of these speakers in two different boats.I do not consider them true marine rated, since they have metal spyders that can rust, so I use these for other than direct outside use, such as in the cabin or canvas-enclosed cockpit.For speakers directly mounted outside to the elements, I prefer true marine speakers (those having plastic spyders, and so on).But other than that minor limitation, they are outstanding speakers, and live up to the Polk name in quality and performance.
