5great sub bad price
By scrotyMcBoogerballs
I own two P2s in my chevy aveo home made ported box. They hit and hit Hard!! but dont buy them for this price this sub should be no more than $80 NEW!! but with that said these subs are well worth the price and will add awesome bass to your system. oh and they can take a beating I had a wild screw driver accident with one piercing the surround. However with some rubber glue and epoxy the sub couldnt be better.Hats off to Rockford Fosgate for an awesome product!!

5excellent sub
By Paulmeister
I bought this sub to compliment a pair of Polk Audio DB 6500 component speakers, which were installed in the doors of my Mr2 turbo. Now, the last set of speakers I owned were Pioneers, along with a Stage I Rockford Fosgate sub. These were in my previous car - an Acura Integra. The sub was placed in the trunk and I remember that sometimes it seemed like the "punches" lagged behind the actual beat of the song. I'm not sure if this was due to the distance and material between the sub and myself, the sub's amplifier, or what. But it could be annoying at times. Now I have the MR2 and I had the option of placing the sub in the trunk as before, only this time it would have to push the sound through the entire engine bay before reaching me. This didn't seem like a wise move, so I opted to have the sub placed in the small area of space right behind the driver seat. It is fed by a little black 700watt mono amplifier (Alpine I think), mounted to the rear wall behind the passenger seat, across from it.I don't know if it's that it is a stage II sub, that it only has to go through a seat to reach me, or that the amplifier powering it is better than the old 250watt RF amp I had before. Maybe it's everything. Either way, this sub can really kick and I haven't noticed any lag. Since it is on the driver's side, the sub is perceived differently for the driver and the passenger. Being directly behind me, this thing is felt as well as heard, which is why I don't turn it up too high that often. If you ever go to a live concert where you feel the pounding of the sound waves... it is that type of feeling, just more controllable and felt mainly in the lower back. It's pretty nice to actually feel the beat hit you. The passenger doesn't get quite that visceral experience - the sub's sound has expanded by the time it reaches the passenger side and it is a more rich and enveloping sensation. I like both, but I prefer to feel it.Now here is something interesting... on certain songs, I've noticed certain subsonic vibes that, with a normal or perhaps lesser sub, cannot be heard. Actually, I tried to hear them on my Klipsch 5.1 system by cranking the sub level up and I ended up ruining the sub - it just couldn't handle what it was being told to produce. With this (or eve a stage I) RF sub, I can get powerful low frequency vibes that I would otherwise have never heard or thought existed.I listen to all kinds of music, from Techno to Metal, Rock, Pop, 80's, etc., and it has yet to disappoint me (hence the 5 stars). This is a great and affordable sub that is clean and precise, and if my car is ever stolen I would definitely buy it again.
