Not sure why this would overheat as mine has never done so after 6 months usage, it is installed on the rear seat panel (trunk) in a GTI and needs no additional cooling, awesome sound quality with infinity reference speakers.

love focal speakers, but 15 minutes after auth. dealer install in trunk, this amp overheats and shuts off. its sounds great, but not for long periods of time. dealer suggested installing cooling fans, but i guess im just stuck buying a more proven reliable replacement. for about $1,000 more focal makes a version of this amp that doesnt overheat as bad. but im looking at rockford fosgate t400-4 for under $400.
