I'm happy with the purchase. It adds a lot to the lower end and my wife says she can hear it on the second floor (it's in a 700 sq. foot basement). It's got good adjustments (volume, phase)and an auto-on switch so you don't need to touch it once it's setup. I used the THX optimizer from my Toy Story DVD to adjust the volume and am very satisfied.One concern is that there is a minor buzz, but this goes away when I disconnect the cable from my Sony DB830 receiver so I'm not going to blame the sub for that. You can't turn this *all* the way up as it becomes muddy (a little distorted) but it's more than enough for a Home Theater system. I have it set at about 50% volume and it's perfect.

I got this sub a really long time ago when Circuit City was still in business. This sub is very nice for the price, it hasn't really failed on me yet. Be careful when moving it though, the feet break very easy. So lift it up straight and put it down straight. I learned that the hard way. Now, after several years of pushing it pretty hard, the amp has been getting very very hot. So be very careful and I highly recommend you unplug it or be sure it is shut off after use. One more thing, don't expect the sub to handle anything under 60-50 Hz. It will bottom out pretty easy.
